Last week it became known that the list of Sberbank’s retail assets might get replenished with one of the major regional retailer in its receipts – the Vester group from Kaliningrad. Sberbank-Capital Ltd. has settled the question of receiving the control over the network in exchange for restructuring the group’s debts a 6 billion rubles. This deal will make the Sberbank’s sister company the third major retail player in Russia after X5 Retail Group and Magnit.
The Vester group explained the reason of technical default – on August, 21st the company failed to pay off the offer on debut loan obligations.
The representatives of Samtorg Ltd., the operator of Samokhval network, informed their suppliers of achieving the preliminary arrangements on purchasing a franchise from Kopeyka.
The networks Magnit, X5 Retail Group and Caffefour resumed the working results for the first half 2009. The net receipts of Magnit increased a 147%. X5 Retail Group reserved the EBITDA margin at the level of 8.7%. The net loss of the French retailer Caffefour came up to 58 million euro. The Diksi group of companies reported their working results for 7 months – the retailer’s receipts increased a 16% and came up to 31 172 million rubles.
In spite of the crisis events in economy, new retail projects continue to appear and open. The product store Nizkotsen is only present at the Omsk market for one month, but it has already achieved the operational make-out. Russian retailers from different industries actively started using the possibility of internet-selling. This year two supermarket bonus-segment networks – the seventh Continent and Azbuka Vkusa – started rapid developing the network’s product sales.

In the second half 2009 the Swiss watch producer Swatch Group hopes to improve its financial indices at the expense of the countries where the slump is lowering.
